Seems I have some credit to give Apple, as little as I want to. I'm playing with an old AirPort Extreme (A1354) that I got off someone on Marketplace today. Connected it to my lab network since it's so old and probably insecure... It seems to have figured out that it was already on an RFC1918 network and put itself in bridge mode instead of router mode. Very nice.
