  1. We left home later than planned, but made it to library & PO lobby before 6 pm closing. It was tempting to “cut corners” to arrive faster, but we held to our mantra/prayer when biking, or driving: be safe, legal, courteous. Wish that was everyone’s aim!

Instead, this eve we were passed by a reckless person on a bicycle, who seemed to be training for a race—but on public streets in rush hour traffic. They were running red lights & stop signs (on flat terrain, not even on an uphill intersection when a thoughtful driver might beckon a cyclist to go first).

We also experienced a reckless driver who gave less than #3FeetForSafety! But majority of drivers were bike aware and passed us per #California VC 21760, which requires #drivers to change lanes when passing a #bicycle whenever feasible, just as when passing a #car.

One of our favorite things about a night ride home: far fewer cars on the road!
