3D printed a Devil Battlemech for Battletech. I liked the original art better than the Catalyst redesign, so I fired up Blender and made my own stl. I eyeballed most of it and cut some corners and details, but I got it done in 3 hours. Looks close enough for my personal use.
Quickly painted on some details using acrylic markers. The opacity for these things are not bad and the tip is decent for getting details. Not the best but done for tomorrow's game.

Any advice for painting PETG miniatures? I've never done it before, but my experience is PET doesn't take paint very well. Should I prime it before painting?

Some of the FDM 3D printed miniature that I printed a couple of years ago are becoming brittle and breaking. The thin parts are having it the worst. All printed in PLA.
Is this a common problem or was it a bad batch of PLA?
How are your 3D prints holding up over time?

This Future Floor polish and Mr Surfacer 500 combo is looking very promising for smoothing out layer lines without sanding.
The only problem so far is the time it takes to cure, which should be ok once I get an assembly line going.
I'll take some photos under harsh lighting over the weekend to inspect the results.

"We have a Mad Cat at home."
My take on the Rakshasa Battlemech, trying to be as close to the Dana Knutson TRO:3055 art.
It's designed to be 7 parts that 3D print without supports that assemble into this mini.

I've been experimenting with using Mr. Hobby Surfacer 500 to hide layer lines on 3D printed miniatures. It works if I lay it on thickly.
I read something about Pledge Floor Polish also doing a decent job. Will try that as soon as I print up a new batch of minis.

Finished that little set of Slice and Slot terrain, and a Five Leagues warband to fight over it!

It took a third attempt, but I was finally able to successfully print and cure (to satisfactory levels) that Werewolf STL without any printing errors. Jubilations! 🎉
It certainly took me a while to get to this point, but I'm actually pretty jazzed to start painting some minis that don't have to be tied to a game system or publisher. I'm considering doing a bust next just for something *completely* different.

Hey #3dPrintedMiniatures fans!
Does anyone have any good suggestions for medieval/renaissance style civilians and/or NPC models? I'm also looking for British woodland creatures (or at least their heads!)
All suggestions welcome, but I am especially looking for #STLs for multi part kits so I can easily chop and change to give me a wider variety in finished models.
Thanks in advance 😁
