  1. I’m so embarrassed by all the Google map reviews that people leave in Mexico city restaurants. ‘I’m from San Francisco so I really know about good food. This place is good!’

I don’t know why SF people would post such things in a culinarily superior city

  2. I needed the wifi password. It wasn’t printed and they spelled it out for me.

The only way I understood (I don’t speak Spanish) is that Indonesian alphabets sound similar to Spanish alphabets (‘ah, beh, cheh’..)

  3. We were at our first taquería in Mexico City and a group of 10 friends showed up and kept spontaneously breaking into song together (between tacos).

Honestly, life is hard, I’m starting to think I’d prefer to be among people who spontaneously break into song and who love food. All the time. It’s just what I understand and like.

    1. Taquería Selene

This spot was highly recommended by several local friends for having excellent Mexico City style al pastor tacos

We had a range of different things, decided the al pastor was the best. We plan to be back for more but next time we’ll just do as the locals do and order ‘feed me 30 minutes of al pastor..’

  10. My wife is graduating from her Masters program in clinical psychology today. I am so proud of her!

There are many things we deeply regret about coming to this country (ha) but California gave her an incredible and affordable public university education (four year undergrad and Masters).

7.5 years after arriving here, she has a new career, the one she was meant to do.

    Wombats deserve:

    - uninterrupted naps
    - healthy skin
    - a life without painful itching and irritation

  12. I'm glad someone in mainstream Singapore media is talking about this:

The migrant workers who literally build and clean Singapore have to deal with conditions nobody else would accept, and they do not have leverage or rights or very much support

We have a three-tier immigration system: at the very bottom, work permit holders, people in construction and domestic labour.
