  1. @alcinnz #Clew mentioned!

Funny to see this article after a couple days ago I saw that LibreOffice added the ability to import and export docs as Markdown. And someone on HackerNews was ranting about LibreOffice being legacy software and Markdown being the future of all documents.

  5. Just learning of this when Unity randomly stopped working on latest Ubuntu 25.10 update. Latest Unity release expects XML2, and I presume Ubuntu no longer ships it.

  10. It's rare that I need to check TLS version support, but #TIL that #nmap is pretty great at that. #networking

  11. RE: tv.theindiebeat.fm

I gotta say was listening to IndieBeat TV and the glass harp transition partway through "Black Sulphur Spring" from "Bob Drake" was absolutely sublime.

Tried to find it on either Bandwagon or Bandcamp and seems like this live rendition is only found on #IndieBeatTV. #music

Despite the US admin caring more about building a luxury ballroom than saving lives, a hopeful message from John from the #Philippines.

  13. Questing Quokka

Still having fun with #PerfectFreehand. "Questing Quokka" is the name of the October 2025 Ubuntu update. I was meaning to replicate the desktop wallpaper, but I now realize I did the lines all wrong.

A Quokka is a pretty interesting animal, never heard of it before. My interpretation is that it's basically a kangaroo rat. It's only found in southwestern Australia. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quokka

  14. I upgraded to #Ubuntu 25.10 and the new terminal emulator went totally under my radar. I've never heard of #Ptyxis before a few days ago.

With #Wezterm struggling on Wayland, I've been going back to #Terminator. So, this terminal upgrade is very welcome.

I'm still new to Ptyxis, but the GNOME theme looks great, it has a lot of settings and themes, and the focus on container integration is intriguing. I don't know how I haven't heard of Ptyxis before.
