  1. The March competition from #NHRL inspired me to crunch numbers.

It's not much, but it's a thing. Maybe more thing come later.

  4. Settling in for some #PrimeTime viewing on a 2-hour delay. Really looking forward to it. Don't spoil it for me too badly!

  7. I really enjoyed the live audience voting in the #RobotRampage World Cup. I always play that game at home anyhow - trying to guess what's going to happen before it does is a really good prompt to thinking more deeply about what you're watching. And if you've followed me for a while you've seen me put out polls on this sort of thing.

So, yes, I'm very glad to see
#BattleBots will be doing something similar with their new show. They won't be live, so it's a little different, because some small minority of the votes know for a fact who wins, but still... it's a nice gesture.

#NHRL does live shows, and are generally quite good at being online. I wonder if they've experimented with this sort of thing as a live-audience engagement thing before?

  10. @kitten @ka_so

    Honestly, I prefer
#NHRL primarily because they're producing more new, regularly-scheduled, high-quality competition shows in places I can easily watch.

    If
#BattleBots went back to a championship every year plus FaceOffs or whatever... frankly I'd just watch both. I'm not so strapped for screen time that I have pick one or the other.

  13. Anyone aware of "Battle of Robots" at "Games of the Future" coming up in a week? What is the ruleset, exactly? Single-elim bracket?

It's weird for an event with the largest 1st-place cash prize ever to have so few details available. And when I tried to watch what I could find of their one previous event, I was more confused than anything.

    #combatrobotics ... not #NHRL or #BattleBots but I don't know what tags one would use for visibility ... #GamesOfTheFuture I guess?

  16. If you're not watching NHRL Primetime on YouTube, you're missing out. Violent from the start! Emulsifier was fighting for its little metal life! #RobotCombat #Battlebots #NHRL

    1. We have SO much food in this house. Months' worth. What a harbor of security in uncertain times.

    2. #NHRL All Stars this week, babyyy! #robotCombat

    3. The tiredness has shifted. I've had enough to work full time hours but not much else, never able to get enough rest to recover fully, and just resigned to this being my life. Lately it's been more like "almost ok, if I can just get a LITTLE more rest and recovery." 🤞

  20. I don't know what we did to deserve Tom Farkas, but I'm sure glad to live in a world where he exists. #BattleBots #NHRL #PawsitivelyHissterical #RobotCombat #catstodon (well, kinda catstodon related...)

  23. This is one of the greatest robot fights to date. Certainly the best in the tournaments this year. Two champion bots, and a scaled down , fight . It is especially incredible when you've seen how destructive Droopy can be, and how aggressive Lynx typically is.
