Dit is zo leuk! Dan loop je vlak voor je gaat koken met je oogstkom en een keukenschaar naar buiten om te kijken wat je kunt oogsten uit de #MakkelijkeMoestuin-bak. Vandaag was dat: rucola, Franse radijs, spitskoolblad en ijsbergsla. Dat aten we samen met kikkererwtenpasta, verse tomatensaus en een biorunderworstje. Ik moet er echt weer aan wennen om minder verse groente te kopen nu het moestuinseizoen op gang komt.

#MakeShitMonday, in which I pivot to neon-colored fuzzy #crochet water-balloon blobs for a friend's kid!
Said kiddo is 8, and his school is planning a water balloon fight for last day of school, but they wanted to avoid the trash left by regular water balloons. My friend found this great pattern for crochet "water balloons" made from bulky polyester yarn that absorb water when soaked and make a satisfying SPLAT when thrown at someone... 🧶🎈 There are ~50 kids at the school, so my goal is to make one for each kid by June.
@mbroome and I were in Punta Cana this week for an actual relaxing vacation, at a beach resort even.. ⛱️ (We did hike up Montaña Redonda in the blazing sun, but at least we weren't carrying heavy gear!) This made the perfect beach project - easy to pick up & put down, no worries if I have a little sunscreen or sweat on my hands...
He was laughing at my ambition to cram three of these *ginormous* yarn skeins into my luggage, but I have worked my way through two of them and will have the third to keep me occupied on the plane home! (Inflatable neck pillow, that doubles as extra carry-on storage, ftw - I crammed one skein into each end, and it looked a little ridiculous, but I got it on the plane! And now it is jammed full of balloons for the trip home. 😇)

#MakeShitMonday, in which the next #crochet project is already coming along nicely... @mbroome and I have been road-tripping for outdoor adventures, and long drives are prime crochet time for me!
I previously made a scaled-up version of this [Branching Out Shawlette](https://www.mooglyblog.com/branching-out-shawlette/) in a lovely [Plymouth Yarn Avita](https://www.plymouthyarn.com/yarn/avita-item-418-limited-quantities-available) alpaca-blend yarn - which turned out *incredibly* soft, but too fuzzy to properly showcase the interesting branching lace pattern inset between panels.
So I'm trying again with their [Baby Alpaca Sport-EC](https://www.plymouthyarn.com/yarn/baby-alpaca-sport-ec-item-0745), which is similarly soft but considerably smoother - really happy with how it's looking so far...

I finally got the shrug body finished, blocked, and seamed - put the picot edging on in the car on the way to an event this weekend, just in time to sit in an over-air-conditioned conference center all day Saturday... 😁
(Bonus - @mbroome says "it's really easy to find you in the crowd now!" 😄)
Also I have been wanting to make myself a pair of slippers for almost a year now - got the yarn, made a demo pair, gave them to Mom, then made a pair for @mbroome, then got distracted... So I banged those out just in time for the weekend as well. Yay, warm feet! 🥿🧶💖
