  1. Blackwater Falls, WV

(Get a grip? Need a hug? Friends forever?)

  2. Before WWII, these woods were logged by hand saw, axe, and draft horse. Felled trees were limbed and dragged slowly to a small steam-powered mill, then slabbed and stacked in a rough shed.

The mill is long gone. Only foundation stones remain – low stacked cairns in a grid, lichen covered, neolithic.

Shallow ruts made by hoof and heavy logs still wander ridge lines as trails. The forest has regrown around them.

Like little lemon yellow comets. Bioluminescent cosmonauts, spinning through the summer sky.

  10. "There's no place like home . . . "

Watching The Wizard of Oz at a rural drive-in in the rain. Distortion of rivulets syncing with distortion of the movie, designed to evoke memory and magic. Chef's kiss. Highly recommend.

    Five stars.

Also, this isn’t watercolor, but pixel pigments so ephemeral they dissolve with a wash of electrons.
