Quick quick quick quick feet and distance 💚
Last night of Rookies Boot camp - time to invite some new community and league members into GMRD 💚🥳

Day 27 of #RunAmanda - yeesh. Another downtown run at the end of the day, but quick and got the minimum distance in. Was a relief to see how dry it was after the surge of flooding on Monday.
Tomorrow going to get another quick one in before last #RollerDerby practice of 2023, then can go for some longer runs next week.

Day 26 of #RunAmanda - went on the minimum distance out-and-back before #RollerDerby practice on pavement, with my fastest split so far (sub 10:00/mile for first time in years probably)
Turns out that running in the slog on hills is good for training after all.

Day 24 of #RunAmanda was predictably boggy and gray, whilst tomorrow will be sloggy and warm enough for shorts. Blech.
Short out and back, but not the shortest. I'll be scouting new routes in the next two weeks for off-skates training for GMRD.
We're having a hard time getting dedicated practice space scheduled more than 30 days at a time with our regular venue, so trying to plan more options for group training.

Day 23 of #RunAmanda did happen, but posting was delayed.
Don't let the smile fool you. Gorgeous blue skies and warmer temps yet again show I am a foul weather runner. Looking forward to the storm coming in the next few days.

Day 22 of #RunAmanda proved yet again that you don't have to want to do something to still do it.
🌹Roses and 🥀Thorns:
🥀 The clear weather makes for grumpy muddy starts.
🌹 At least the sunset was amazing 💖💖
🥀 Wicked tired, which might be the end of a very intensive timeframe at work, with a LOT of socio-emotional organizational labor. Super rewarding, honored to do it, and also it's been a sprint.
🌹Could also be yesterday's round 2 of the Lyme Disease vaccine Trial. -
Day 21 of #RunAmanda
Late night at #RollerDerby and crunch crunch schedule again meant the shortest of runs to meet the mark, but also my fastest splits for distance thus far. So....yay?
At last night's practice, I noticed that my endurance and leg strength has improved! So yay!

Actual Day 20 of #RunAmanda
Gorgeous fresh powder over the firmer road base. Had planned on heading out for a loop on skis, but my last half was sleet in the face. A good quick run before practice tonight.

Day 19 of #RunAmanda
Bitter cold wind in the open, with thawed roads from the sun. Frozen mud in the shade. They overplowed the roads, which we'll regret in about a week. Setting sun laid out gorgeous colors over the ranges.
Still short, as it's been a stressful EOY wrap-up. Missed #RollerDerby tonight to recover, and get to skate it out tomorrow 💚

Day 18 of #RunAmanda was absolutely as much fun as I was hoping. Less time that I had wanted, but still so much better than yesterday in the rain and puddles.
Guess I really am a corgi.

I gave a talk on roller derby at #Monktoberfest this morning and was immediately asked by two people if I knew @miketheman.
I'm a context-dependent person, so at first it was a lot of squinty not sure eyes (by me). After the idea soaked for approximately 6 hours, everything finally clicked and now the world feels a little smaller in a very nice way.
