A creative choice in this reworked series, as compared to the original versions published in 2014, was to use vignetting to pull and push the image forwards and backwards. Camera's relatively still at the peak of a corner, and all the movement is in the competitors. A third factor in these images, is another photographer running big strobes, so there's light-painted frozen moments in my long exposures.

Someone from a #RollerDerby league in Salem (about an hour away from me) just asked me if I could come down on Saturday and officiate a game on short notice.

A few months ago I was a skating official for one of their games and it was my first time as an SO since 2012 or so. I guess I did well enough that they don't think I suck and invited me back!

I might be okay at derby stuff.

Friday night at #RollerDerby practice I tried a few new things:
* Apex Jumping - I did it!
* Bean Dipping - I did it!
* Sideways Jumps- I did it!

I got multiple compliments on my jumps. Apparently I jump pretty high? It sure doesn't feel like it. I was just trying to jump high enough that it felt like I left the ground.

Friday's practice marked one year of my return to derby and it's been fantastic. Unfortunately today is Monday and I'm still sore. Skills & Drills practices kick my ass.

Som la lliga de roller derby de la ciutat que porta activa des de 2011, i fa un parell d'anys ens van retirar la nostra pista, ens costa moltíssim accedir a espais en les quals entrenar i fer partits.

El pròxim 23/05 tenim el gran gust de convidar-vos a un tremend dia de roller amb nosaltris, un torneig al centre de la ciutat, en Plaça Espanya! amb els equips de Lille (França) i  Copenhagen (DK)
