@davidwilkins I’ve ridden in one through the vineyards of Burgundy. It’s a very plush environment. The leather quality is superb. The dampening of uneven surfaces exemplary.
The clock is lovely, if a bit gimmicky IMO. My initial thought was how well would that be doing after 10-15 years of use? 🤔
A very nice vehicle indeed. No idea of pricing and options, costs to maintain etc.

@autonerdery @chromblitzen @ukuku @slirt I find Jay comes across as more “genuine” and not so much of a performance artist (he doesn’t have anything left to prove to anyone).
Jay also shared one of the best reviews ever of the Citroën DS IMHO…

@richardknott We’ll see how it turns out, but for now, this doesn’t seem nearly as clever as the R5 reboot to me.
The famous Ian from #HubNut reviewed a newer version of the previous R4 and deftly explained why it was a better car than the Citroën 2CV, but lacked the same incredible charm.

@serichards I’ve noticed a couple of trends on this front:
1) Official classic car restoration operations, for things like a Jaguar XJS etc.
2) 3D printing.
It’s really all about costs — how much it costs to make and manage inventory for limited run products; and markets — how many want to restore a particular vehicle.
You’re probably more likely to find spares for a Citroën 2CV or a DS than a Citroën C5 or an XM.

@serichards those are so tidy! Sleeping wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Red can be a really tough color to get just right, but that era of VAG red was perfect.
I would love one of these.

@BitchinRob Wisely Automotive on YouTube and FB is an excellent resource IMHO.
Arthur (owner) and Martin are very knowledgeable and communicate openly about pricing, frequent issues, etc.
They also recently posted the cost of their service interventions.
Martin has also driven various i3 models across country, and reported on the ease of doing that as well.

@serichards @richardknott The Zoe also looked like it was made of Tupperware plastic to me, but I never sat or rode in one… 🤷♂️

@BitchinRob How about the Citroën ë-C3? That starts at £22K, although some features would have me preferring the MAX version at £24K.
Other than the design, which I think is a winner, the hydraulic bump stop suspension and comfort seating apparently actually work to make the car more comfortable than most.
Range is 200 miles, if that’s enough.
Fast charging at 100 kW = 20-80% in 26 minutes, if that helps.

@9to5Mac I’ll just add that the 11 and 11 Pro still work great, but both batteries are now under 80% of their original capacity, and one of them has a cracked screen from being dropped (minor cracks, nothing serious). So rather than invest in new batteries, and one new screen, I’ll just replace them both.
My “strategy” is to buy from Apple with an Apple Card, so I get two years of 0% interest, and a trade-in value for the old phone to be disposed of safely.

Anyone installed iOS 18 yet?
In our household, we have two older iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro devices. Mine is a 13 Pro. Last but not least, one kid has an iPhone 14.
Both of the iPhone 11 generation are intended for replacement this year.
I don’t generally rush to install the latest update, so I’ll probably wait until next week to avoid server bottlenecks.

So, following yesterday’s mishap with the cruel assassination of my beloved vehicle (okay, maybe beloved is a bit strong, but you get the idea), I had to fill out a form for the insurance company for a premium adjustment that was already underway. I think this part of the form makes Kris and I look rather good, especially that last line.
💪 😉 ✌️
* For V2 & V3, the year is the “model year”. They are both actually one year older, so 2006 and 2007.

Well, it finally happened. 😭
A lady ran the red light when I was in the intersection and almost certainly totaled our 18 year old (last month) 2006 W203 Mercedes-Benz C280 “Luxury” trim at just under 165,000 miles from new. 7 speed manually shiftable automatic with two overdrive ratios and two reverse gears. Nothing was broken on this car. Everything worked. It could have driven to New York from L.A. tomorrow with no preparation.

@SteveInVentura In my testing recently, my rented #BMWi4 was capable of adding 100 miles in 10 minutes, which is better than this graph.
I only had it for three days, so I cannot comment in more detail, but it could certainly charge faster than what is shown, and did.

The #ChiefTwit is literally insane, and also, a prolific liar. 🤦♂️
The details in the article are particularly damning.
