  1. @serichards there is an example from #WiselyAutomotive where a firmware update to the vehicle bricked (or otherwise rendered inoperable) an aftermarket screen upgrade.

It does give you options though.

Maybe Wisely have their own aftermarket recommendations.

  2. @serichards It’s lovely, for the right price. If you haven’t driven an i3 before, it might be love at first drive, and the leather seats are easier to wipe clean. Lovely wheels too, although if there is damage, it’s costly to refurbish them. #WiselyAutomotive also did a YouTube feature on that process. They’re so gorgeous when in good shape.

  3. @serichards another thing that’s not worth coughing up extra cash for is the heat pump. Martin at #WiselyAutomotive did a real time test and found that the heat pump advantage was barely detectable, if at all.

  4. @BitchinRob Wisely Automotive on YouTube and FB is an excellent resource IMHO.

Arthur (owner) and Martin are very knowledgeable and communicate openly about pricing, frequent issues, etc.

They also recently posted the cost of their service interventions.

Martin has also driven various i3 models across country, and reported on the ease of doing that as well.

  5. 🚨 HELP! 🚨

Traveling to Europe again. There are some good EV rental options. But…

There’s an app that Martin from #WiselyAutomotive in London πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ recommends for finding chargers on the European mainland.

Does anyone know what it is? I don’t have time to rewatch all his YouTube videos to find it. πŸ˜‘

  6. @SteveInVentura I’ve watched a few videos from #WiselyAutomotive of London Town πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§. They specialize in #BMWi3 and other EV’s. I normally hate YouTube but Martin of W.A. is a joy to listen to.

Anyway, some of his explanations involve road trips to drive purchased i3’s back to London, and he never discharges the battery completely, or charges above 90% because it wastes time on a long trip.

It’s an extreme example, but it demonstrates the logic perfectly.
