What Happens When a Plate Shatters and Its Artistic Pieces Go Free?
FRAGMENTED: Turning Broken Plates Into Art
Rob Strati’s “Fragmented” series shows how something broken can become something beautiful. It all started with a plate that belonged to his wife’s late mother, Barbara. One day, the plate fell and shattered into pieces. Instead of throwing it away, Strati saw an opportunity to create art.

Rob explains it best:
“This work was inspired by a plate from my wife’s late mother, Barbara. One day it was dropped and shattered. Some time after, I picked up a pen and started working on the ‘Fragmented’ series, exploring the possibilities of things broken and the stories that can evolve from them.”
Using the shapes of the broken plate, Strati created intricate pen drawings. Each piece became part of a new story, showing how beauty can grow from something unexpected.

Finding Beauty in Broken Things
Strati’s work reminds us that imperfections can be powerful. His art is similar to kintsugi, a Japanese tradition of fixing broken pottery with gold to celebrate its cracks. Instead of hiding the damage, Strati’s series lets the broken pieces inspire something fresh and creative.

If you are at #KubeConEU today, make sure to stop by the Platform Engineering Technical Community Group in the project pavilion. Very close by the sticker wall 😎

Another internal conference, but this time it is open for friends. This concept is really cool: one conference hosted at all our locations in Norway at the same time.
I will be speaking in Oslo about how to get the most out of your terminal and start living a text-based life. Wanna nerd with me? 🤓

This year's #KubeConEU will be a hectic one. Rejects on Saturday, Maintainer Summit on Sunday, Platform Engineering day (and more) on Monday, and then the conference starts. Combined with after-parties, visiting partners, and networking? It might be the most hectic week in 2026.
But still, if you want to meet up to discuss #cloudnative and #platformengineering, just reach out and I will find the time for you.

As I’m currently focusing on everything OSPO, are there any talks or interviews that you feel that I need to watch/hear? I probably have it on my list, but there is so much and I would love to get some feedback on what to prioritize.

This week has been awesome! We managed to pull off Cloud Native Day Oslo 2025, our second conference, and it went really well! Met a lot of new and familiar faces, a big lift in attendees from last year, and in general a happy community.
Already planing the next one 🤓

Anyone I know who leads an Azure, Google Cloud, or Cloud Native community group in Seattle? On the 20th, I am traveling to visit Microsoft in Redmond, but I will stay some days in downtown Seattle first.
I'd love making some community contributions while over there!

In exactly two weeks, I will travel all the way to Seattle to attend my very first MVP Summit. I have been an MVP for 4 years now, but I never had the chance to visit Redmond until now.
Who of you will I meet there?

I find it weird that even with the #GitOps principles written so many years ago, people still don't understand what GitOps is. Every time there is a webinar about GitOps from one of the usual suspects, they will most definitively screw up when defining GitOps.
-
People that works with #Kubernetes in #Dublin, I will be visiting this Wednesday to talk about #GitOps at the April Kubernetes Dublin Meetup.
Unfortunately I will be there for only one night, but I will try to make the most out of it 🤓

Not many days left before I go to KCD Denmark. Just need to finish off my presentation, finding out everything I need to know about Aarhus and do laundry before leaving.
I know a bunch of people are going to the event, looking forward to meeting you all 😊

I got renewed as a Microsoft MVP in the Azure category. I got a bit nervous about it, so I’m excited about getting yet another year.
I am planing the next year as a speaker and community contributor, and I have plenty of things to share. So, if you need anyone to talk about cloud native, Azure and DevOps, give me a shout!
