  1. Have to ask, did any of the folks at the #WHCD debacle the other night, or any of the media jerkoffs bloviating on it, think to wonder if this is how school kids feel when the gun shots start up?

  2. #SethMeyers hosts a #LateNight tv show. I think his show in general is pretty good, he’s funny, he has fun talking with his guests, and they seem to also.
Once a week he does a YouTube video called Corrections. People who watch the regular show write comments on the YT channel about mistakes they believe Seth made in the previous week. He acknowledges or refutes them. No audience, just crew on set, they laugh at his jokes. Been doing for 4 years. youtu.be/EXFN4NNJXUA?si=clu5h8

  3. #MapleLeafs
    Outside my bedroom window.
It’s been an extremely dry winter, only a few inches of snow since the beginning of Fall. Lawns are mostly brown except where some watering has been done, but grasses are hardy and can withstand the dryness better than trees, especially nonnative varieties that are all over the place. I haven’t paid attention to when leaves have appeared in previous years so I don’t know if these are late or not. I suspect they are. April 2026.

  4. On his show last night #JohnOliver reported on #PredictionMarkets. I’ve known they existed for a while but have never tried one out. My gambling needs are sated by the occasional #PowerBall ticket when the jackpot gets around $1 billion. I’ve seen them in the news lately over bets on the war etc. But I’m curious if there are any bets on #Trump vs. the #25thAmendment, or even just the likelihood of his finishing his term alive or dead. Anyone here into this stuff who can look that up?

  5. #johnOliver buys art. 15 minutes of history. During the pandemic lockdown he continued to do his weekly show, #LastWeekTonight from an empty studio in front of a white backdrop. Here are the two segments from when he bought some #ratErotica. It was his effort to bring happiness to a beleaguered country. We’re even beleaguereder now than we were then. Maybe this will help. youtu.be/RBRFTM_NWsY?si=ZKy19K

  6. If you are a logophile or perhaps a lexophile, or if you watch British TV, you know the name, Susie Dent. She’s got a new book, a mystery, called Guilty by Definition. TBH I’m not a fan of mysteries, but I am a fan of her, so I picked this up when I saw it. 1 chapter in and I’m hooked. Editors at an Oxford dictionary get a letter that references the year the senior editor’s sister disappeared. #bookstodon #recommendations

  7. I need some assistance from our #British fediversian cousins. Found this joke in a list of top 50 funniest jokes from the #Telegraph published in 2010.

    20. I met a Dutch girl with inflatable shoes last week, phoned her up to arrange a date but unfortunately she'd popped her clogs.

What does “popped her clogs” mean? TIA

Disclosure: the only one I laughed at was
    49. A seal walks into a club...

Not proud of that, but it is what it is.
