Here we go again…
The "Marijke fixes people's CSS" meme is real.
Anyway, we're on at the Python Office Hours!
Cc. @offby1

One of the flavors they sold was not like the others:
It’s stroopwafel cannoli.
This has the power to be both a culinary insult in two cultures, or one of my favorite mashups of all time.

Last Friday, during the ShitPostWG Office Hours (taking over the Python Office Hours), fellow member @bmispelon said:
"You are the only Dutch person I have ever heard complain about dunking stroopwafels into coffee. Are you sure it isn't only your personal opinion?"
Valid question, so I did what any sensible shitposter would do:
I employed the help of the internet, and I broke some Dutch brains in the process.
180 people responded to a 24-hour Mastodon poll, of which approximately 128 voters claimed to be Dutch.
----
My question was simple: "dunking stroopwafels in coffee: yay or nay?"
The answers are clear: only 15% of the Dutch responders answered "yay".
----
Now, of course, this is a similar situation to pineapple on pizza: people have strong opinions on this matter, but it's not forbidden.
Enjoy your stroopwafel any way you want, but I highly recommend you try putting the cookie on top of your steaming cup of coffee, not in it.

Alright, folks, time to settle this.
Dunking stroopwafels into coffee, yay or nay?
Only Dutch folks for the first two options, please.
Edit for the Dutch folks: Yes, some people dunk stroopwafels into coffee. Don't kill the messenger. (Also, I do not.)

One minute.
It took @alexgmin barely one minute to ask me a CSS question when I entered the Office Hours.
That's a record even for our standards.
-
Due to administrative reasons, I'm running a few minutes late, but you can catch me soon during the Python Office Hours.
Not hosted by Jeff tonight, but by the ShitPost Working Group.
Ask us for a gist if you haven't attended before!
-
Do we all have a friend who sends obscure YouTube links that might land us on a watchlist, or are your friends normal? 🤔
-
The network here decided to dip, and unfortunately, I had to disconnect from the Office Hours promptly.
Thank you to everyone who joined us tonight, and have fun to those still going!
-
Interesting shirt designs at tonight's Office Hours.
@thibaudcolas Sports a pineapple-themed Hawaiian shirt.
And @offby1's shirt quotes: "It's better to be explicit than complicit".
-
So @bmispelon just said:
> "I put pickles on pizza."
And I wonder how that ranks compared to pineapple according to Italy.
-
Fifteen minutes until the ShitPost Working Group hosts the Office Hours until @webology is back from his well-deserved vacation break.
For those who have already attended before, you can use the same link as last time.
For the new folks: Please watch A Knight's Tale and ask @alexgmin for the link to the meeting.

(Also, we're not talking about CSS anymore, if that put you off.)

How many Python engineers do you need to debug Bootstrap CSS?
The answer is… six and counting.
Want to add to the count?
The ShitPost WG Office Hours (replacing tonight's Python Office Hours) is on now!
Contact one of the ShitPost Working Group members for more information.

On the origins of the Thibaud framework, and learning whilst having fun in OSS.
"Create your own web framework in 5 easy steps."
A five-minute presentation by ShitPost Working Group's own @bmispelon.

Hello French people, I need your help.
What kind of food-related crimes would really hurt a French person who emigrated to Norway?
Not asking for anyone in particular.
-
So while ShitPost WG's @bmispelon is choosing violence today by way of mass-stroopwafel-dunking-in-coffee, all I can say is:
-
I also forgot to mention that CSS is cool.
It's a dang puzzle sometimes, but it's super satisfying once you've solved a problem with minimal magic!
-
@pythonbynight Yaaay, Djangonaut Space represent!
-
Hiding contact form controls after a successful form submission; yay or nay?
NB. It does have a (polite) live area informing the user of its success.

😅
-
I hardly entered the EuroCarlton edition of the Python Office Hours before @webology decided to choose violence.
Yes, my fellow Dutchies, that is a stroopwafel dunked in coffee!
-
Accidentally triggering people into a Lakrids by Bülow (Danish confectionary) addiction following some gift shopping after #DjangoCPH.
Bless their wallets. 😅

Something tells me the “Benevolent Dictator For Life” (BDFL) concept works better when the dictator is actually benevolent, and not a dictator.
I hope the open source community learns something from this WordPress situation.
