  6. The #daffodils at #RiverbankStatePark were not affected by last weekends -17F temperatures and high winds. No surprise the #deadnettle is ready to go. That will be flowering soon and is truly wild. One might even say its a weed. What I find particularly interesting is that the catchweed #bedStraw has all disappeared.

  11. Something I keep harping on. #BuyNothingGroups. Isn't the catchphrase, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle? This is the #Reuse part. Keeping stuff out of the #wasteStream. You don't have to #compost this. Buy Nothing Groups are also good for socialization. You get to meet people in your neighborhood.

  12. The schooner #Apollonia is at a pivotal moment.

The #CenterForPostCarbonLogistics (led by Andy Willner) is now raising funds for a new sustainability fellowship that would significantly help Apollonia grow its green logistics work to expand the low carbon network moving goods between the Hudson Valley and New York Harbor.

The Center is looking to raise $80k by March 1, 2023 so the role is in place for the 2023 sail freight season. Donations accepted online at postcarbonlogistics.org/2023/0

  17. On Hudson River from 135 to 65 saw oysters (and ribbed mussels) everywhere during super low tide. And in many places where I've never seen either and they were all like 3 years old. Many photos. Totally blown away. #Oysters #HudsonRiver #RibbedMussels #Nyc #BillionOysterProject

  18. Just read that roads to City Island are jammed in the summer. Safer for biking!

  19. @breadandcircuses This is likely to pass. We in the US have just seen what happens in the case of the #ColoradoRiverCompact where all parties have decided after watching this slow moving yet steady catastrophe to do absolutely nothing. The federal government might do something but it will be too late. They will be blamed unfairly. The communities there grossly failed to read the writing on the wall and I suppose leaned on that old unreliable standby - thoughts and prayers.
