For those following my "Extraction" work, where I explain that corruption isn't the worst problem we're facing, I've created the "Extraction Index"[1] Click on a country and see the extractive behavior directly. The United States scores rather low compared to most developed countries.
Source code[2]. Build with assistance of Claude.

I've been asked to help devs understand effective use of AWS Kiro AI IDE (https://kiro.dev/). The following is about Kiro, but if you do anything with AI coding, you might find it helpful.

Today is shaping up to be crap. HTTP requests failing under the debugger, and the reams of stack traces hid the one line "Timeout was reached" message.
So I bump the timeout to 10 minutes if I'm running under the debugger. Still fails. I failed to set it on the request.
Set it on the request, still fails. I passed `timout` instead.(Sorry, Tim)
Fixed that, still fails. I passed `timeou` instead.
It's just after noon and already I need a drink.

In reading through the Marc Andreessen "Manifesto" (up there with Ted Kazinski and Karl Marx), I've started to write a rebuttal. In the meantime, you can read my annotations on his essay. Warning: plenty of snark.
Note that edits are not enabled, but comments are. Pitch in!

This is a photo of the #RelativitySpace Terran 1 engines firiing. It's gorgeous.
The patterns in the exhaust are called "Shock Diamonds", or "Mach Diamonds" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shock_diamond

We could also use #python devs, long-term remote #contract. Python is 3.6/3.9 using #uWSGI and #SQLAlchemy.
Would be awesome if you have a #bioinformatics background, along with #javascript and #react.
