The Bagnoles-de-l'Orne Casino always has an attractive floral display on the side facing the Lake. The Casino is popular with tourists all year round. At this time of year (September) you will see bus loads of elderly folk, coming to have a flutter at the slot machines. The building also has a posh restaurant and a cinema. The Casino has an interesting history, which I will describe in another post.

Normandie (north-west France) is famous for its apple and pear orchards and its dairy products, particularly cheeses. There is even a breed of Normandie cattle, brought in by the Norsemen over 1,000 years ago.
Its climate used to be similar to south-east Ireland, (which is why I chose to live here) but now the climate is changing. The prolonged drought and high temperatures, covering many years, is affecting the agriculture here. 😪
