Each state in the USA has been granted the authority to govern its own elections, including primary elections. #Maine constitution requires any/all candidates to provide a statement with evidence certifying that they are eligible to hold office. Secy #Bellows was granted the authority by the state legislature to resolve any dispute of that claim by a candidate. Am I happy? No. Do I recognize the tension this causes? Absolutely. But I’ve never been more proud to be a #Mainer

THE GOAT… “JT” (James Taylor for young ‘uns who failed to grasp their parents’ music choices)… sang the National Anthem at the Lewiston High School football game against their arch rival (across the river from them) Auburn. That’s Lewiston, Maine… population less than your mom Lewiston, Maine. I got all choked up when I listened to his rendition. So much unspoken/unsung in those two minutes #JamesTaylor #Lewiston

I'm now in #Day6 of #COVID (living in a county of science-deniers has its challenges) and I've been getting caught up on #crochet projects - @hrbrmstr thought I was "quilting"

Project #1: for kid #4 is hexagonal patchwork afghan inspired by #Minecraft and I call it "Creeper in a Coal Mine" (Creeper separate)

Project #2: for kid #2 is a huge bedspread for King size bed using thick blanket yarn #Bernat blanket yarn in "Countryside"

This is an encouragement post for all students and learners, especially if you get lots of groans and eyerolls because of how often you #askwhy . All work needs to be purposeful and needs to have a "why". We aren't sponges, absorbing knowledge as if plugged into the #Matrix -- we need to know "why" we're doing what we're doing; if not then true #learning doesn't happen. #purposefulwork

For those of us who remember desktop computing without a #GUI I recall getting my first #Macintosh with a whopping 1MB RAM; my reason for bringing this up: #MYST on a 5-inch B/W screen captured the imagination in a powerful way that just doesn't happen anymore. I miss being #mesmerized by something completely new and breathtaking
