  1. One way glass makers used to make flat sheets of glass was to spin the molten glass on a rod, then the resulting pane would be cut into smaller pieces.

I noticed some old glass at #PitzhangerManor. You can see the curved ripples left by the spinning method.

  2. This maple 🍁 frame has cherry 🍒 dowels.

Dowels bring a kind of domino/dice feel to the corners.

Before and after #sanding and #waxing photos.

  3. Relief paint added. Just have to wait for it dry.

    It was pretty easy really.

  4. The glass broke on this print which has relief paint on the glazing.

So I've got myself some clear relief paint and am attempting to recreate the design. 🤞

  6. The first frame this year was a tray frame for this painting by #SintaTantra made with tempera and #GoldLeaf

And the code for the frame moulding we used is 2024.

It must be a sign 🤔 Not sure what it's trying to tell me though.

  7. I've got a new toilet seat for 2024!

And it made me think. Since the old one is made from wood, perhaps you could turned it into a #PictureFrame. It would have its own lid and everything that you could lift to view the picture.

My wife said it could make a chopping board. You could chop on the lid and use the seat part as a little arena to keep your vegetables.

Do you think either would catch on?

  8. This is a #Matisse #lithograph we framed with a linen covered mount.

It's a very pleasing shade of white, the linen we used.

  9. Here's a black walnut frame we did recently with a 20th century modern feel to it.

We altered an existing moulding to create this bevelled tray, then darkened it with finishing oil.

  10. This is a spectacularly bad artwork attachment for a #Japanese #Woodblock I bought.

I knew it would be attached something like this because the frame it came in was so cheap

For a print this size two small paper hinges are needed which will allow the artwork to expand if it needs to and attachments should always be adhered to the back, not the front. I'd also make the attachments using Japanese paper. Self adhesive tape shouldn't be used

  11. #PictureFraming #Collectables

We framed this signed #DepecheMode record sleeve for its owner.

The sleeve on the right is the signed copy, held in place with mylar straps so it can be easily removed if needed.

The sleeve on the left is a stunt sleeve we bought so the front cover could be displayed next to the reverse.

The #frame has an ironstone stain, giving it a blueish grey colour.

  12. Here's a little before and after of something we did recently.

It's not our usual thing but was something we could do.

This ornamental scene of olive pickers needed a new frame.

We used a harder wood than previously used, stained with an ebony dye.

I came out well, I think.

  13. A Conflicted #Cartoonist Ponders #RoyLichtenstein

There a Lichtenstein documentary on Apple TV, regarding his appropriation of other people's work. Sounds interesting.

  14. This is the housing estate being built in the 1930s where our shop is located.

We have a couple of these #AerialPhotos in our window. The local people find them very interesting.

No one knows why the street layout was chosen. It's a local #mystery 🤔

Could be to do with the aeroplane history of the area? The first UK passenger flight was in this area, the #RAF museum is close by and Spitfires were apparently built in #Cricklewood.

    Who knows?
