Oh no, I tried using the zig build system to create a “pipeline”, I struggled a tiny bit because it was the first time I am writing some zig code, but there is absolutely a world where I see myself using it as a general purpose build system.
More features/checks and less footguns than a Makefile, and less complex than snakemake/nextflow. And writing the code for a ‘build.zig’ is not so dissimilar to writing python, this looks like a higher level scripting language (writing a zig program might be a different story…).
There are still few things I am not sure how to do but the experimentations continue.
