  1. Having a blast working on the drum part for my re-recording of Tell Me What She Said. The original hi-hat part was too intense to do with one shots (very similar to Hearts Barracuda), so spent a couple days searching through the grooves in Slate Drums. Found something close then had a blast editing the MIDI parts to create a drum track that’s really kicking ass.

  6. Another instrument left the group today, my Ibanez SR500 bass and the soft shell case that I purchased with it. Didn't get as much as I had hoped, but at least I know it will end up in a good home eventually.

  7. Gotta love developers sometimes. Been noticing more and more stuff in Logic failing recently, and the latest update to 12.2 continues the trend. Now it's impossible to change the track icon - right clicking doesn't bring up the option selection and even selecting "Assign Track Icon" in the context menu does nothing. How is it even possible to break something so intrinsic to the code base???

  12. Accomplished a lot over the past few days. Managed to get enough recovery happening for my voice that I could complete the backing vocals for my next song, just needs a lead guitar part to complete now. So in celebration I just feel like kicking some a**.

  13. Another guitar sold today, my 2000 cherry burst Gibson Les Paul Standard. Bought her on my birthday in 2013 and she’s what got me back into the music scene. She’s been well used, I played her a lot in the first four or five years when I was figuring out the fine art of digital recording. At this point in my personal journey April deserves a better home.

  14. Taking a plunge and have pre-ordered an upgrade of my current VSX headphones with the new Slate Immersion VSX headphones. Can’t wait to hear the difference these are going to make with the virtual studio environments.

  15. Well tonight I officially retired my after nearly 15 years of faithful service. When I purchased the Apogee for my primary system I moved the Quartet to my secondary system. Today I figured I’d try updating the control panel app. The app can see the Quartet but the system can’t. *sigh* I have a Studio 2|4 I can use while I try and figure out my next moves, although I’m tempted to just hang tough with my current setup.

  16. They played this song during warmup the other day for our junior team, it's an awesome tune and perfect for a bunch of young players that are living life to the fullest. And for the this is a great example of LCR mixing.

  17. My TEAC 32-2B is home and operational again. Turns out it’s a rare one, actually being a Tascam X-10 disguised as a TEAC 32-2. I guess that’s why they added the “B.” It has 2 drive belts instead of 1, but the kicker is that it supports both NAB (North American) and IEC (European) EQ with a push button on the front panel.

  18. Love this song and still do. Perhaps though it's time for an update, something like "Streaming Killed The Music Completely?"

  19. Having fun with Logic Pro, fixing the terrible timing on the lead parts I laid down about 6 years ago. Flex Time is such a great tool and so easy to use. Is it cheating? Hell to the yeah! But soooo worth it!

  20. Tried out the Strat today & really liked it. Easy to play & no issues with strings being too tight. Neck also seemed a bit heavier than most Fenders I’ve experienced.

So decided to try something when I got home. Pulled out my Carparelli Infiniti guitar that I picked up through a GoFund me thing Mike was running in 2015. Actually plays similar to the Fender, no issues with strings. So I’m re-recording all the guitar parts - again. 🙄
