  1. Kinda one of my theme songs. Headed for overnight lows in the upper 30s up yonder and gettin very close to breakin out the flannel jammies.

  4. It was true in ‘87 when this tune showed up and even more so, thanks to the FOTUS, his billionaire pals, his Project 2025 goons and tRumpanzees in Congress, almost 40 years later.

  7. The late afternoon jam: it’s a tapestry currently in my office I picked up at a head shop on Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis one sunny day in 1983. It’s a little faded now; it started out with a blue background but after time in places like the Middle East (2004 in Iraq), the Caribbean (2008 at U.S. Naval Station Guantanamo Bay) and, well, the passage of time in general, I think it’s holding up well. Like this tune.

  10. Another of those tunes that, along with ELO’s “Evil Woman,” tends to remind me of the disaster that was the second wife. Meanwhile, an acorn just fell off a tree, rolled off the roof and rolled into my chair here on deck. Yet another sign fall has arrived. 😉

  13. In the middle of my sophomore year in high school, these guys showed up with their self-titled debut album which has a few good tunes on it (IMHO) in addition to “What I Like About You” which became their first hit.

  16. I’m one of THOSE people who waits in the Edge with the windows down and jamming to a tune I like until it’s over and yesterday as I pulled into a spot at the local post office, it was this one. Of course, people walking in or leaving the post office had different reactions, some shaking their head and a few giving the “thumbs up.”

  19. The other day on break, I was playing some tuneage and one of my young co-workers (he just turned 30) comes up to me and asks me if I knew this one from Blue Öyster Cult. I just looked at him and smiled. “Trevor,” I said, “the album was released shortly after my junior year in high school (1981). I JAMMED to this one all. the. time. Check out the album sometime, dude. There’s some good shit.”

  22. Oh, waiter! There’s a moth in my tea! One of the hazards hanging out on deck this time of year, I reckon. In the meantime, one of the four encores Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band played when I saw then in Minneapolis in the spring of 1983.

Ain't it funny how the Night Moves
When you just don't seem to have as much to lose
    Strange how the Night Moves
    With autumn closing in
