“Throughout history, societies have repeatedly faced the collapse of systems without a clear successor in sight. The fall of feudalism didn’t come with a detailed blueprint for industrial capitalism. It simply came with the undeniable realization that the old way was no longer viable.
Our collective obsession with control keeps us shackled to systems that harm us.”https://medium.com/postgrowth/heres-what-s-coming-after-capitalism-54ff7c7fccc5

New worker-owned foodie news site coming out: https://www.weareravenous.com/coming-soon/
This is the future of journalism. As Ravenous write in their intro there;
“We believe the best way forward for media and journalism is without generative AI, without VC money and investors to pay back, and without corporate overlords more concerned about posting endless profits than the actual writing that is supposedly their “product.””
Agreed, and love to see it! Best of luck to them.

Once again, carbon offsets don't reduce emissions.
Companies should do them only if they:
1. Are voluntary. Sure, do offsets for marketing purposes or investor requirements, but companies should ...
2. Still pay for their emissions (e.g. carbon taxes) -
Excellent long read on biodiversity, how to measure (companies’ impacts on) it, and greenwashing.

Do we have #sustainability reporting people on here? Especially EU ones?
EFRAG has just released an excel that details each of the 1178 #ESRS data points that companies will need to report on under #CSRD.
Great little summary of it here: https://www.nossadata.com/blog/efrag-1178-esrs-data-points
If you don't know what this is, it's reporting that all companies in the EU have to do on their social and environmental impact. Large companies have to start reporting in 2025 (reporting on 2024), then all other companies in 2026.
