What did they do? Carry on regardless, to avoid hitting profits & shareholders. #Unforgiveable

They should be pulling out ALL the stops now, and paying for their #Apathy of nigh-on 50 years ago.

Maybe this already happens? But from Austrians' politicians point of view it's probably more important that neutrality is very popular in #Austria
I just wish we had a honest discussion about it. Basically, because neutral Austria became surrounded by #NATO countries over the last decades, many assume that we will be fine anyway.

I think it's clear that the selfish way Austria (and also #Switzerland) currently defines its neutrality is bad for PR in other countries. If Austria wants to take part in something, neutrality is not a problem, but if the government does not want to take part in an initiative, it's "Oh no, we're neutral".

But we can have an interoperable #federated network of social networks that talk to each other. The #NHBC certificate isn’t worth the paper it’s written on…as we found to our cost when the Dragon (my late mother) moved into a new build flat.

Within a few weeks of the completion of the building of just ten flats, one of her balconies leaked into flat below and the #NHBC couldn’t give a toss 🤬

    There's a term for it:

    #CoinageSovereignty

'The coinage sovereignty of the state is a second source of power from which the state can directly cover its money requirement. Nobody contests the state's right to mint coins or to issue treasury notes, indeed beyond that the state has, by virtue of its sovereignty, produced money from every possible source. From copper, nickel, iron, porcelain, aluminium and, above all, from - paper.... we have to state here only that the state can actually cover its need by virtue of its coinage sovereignty, and that it is not forced "to borrow money on interest from those of its citizens who have more of it than they themselves can use".'

  23. "The conflict is actually quite simple in that case. It is between the goal of financialising everything, and everyone, and the chance of a life well lived. The doctors see no chance of that life well lived, in or out of work. The government thinks money is everything. The dispute is about clashing philosophies. There is the belief that life is there to be lived, opposed to the belief that we are just slaves (I use the word deliberately) to servicing finance."
