That's the military-military and not the regime paramilitary 'revolutionary guards' (IRGC)?
Based on my personal experience there more than half of the *IRGC* troops manning the checkposts weren't automatically hostile towards foreigners, but in fact quite friendly. If the Iranian army were to side with people, the regime tightwads might just choose to melt away.
Here's hoping!
