This is Calgary's earliest snow since 2021.
The last time that they got a really early September snow was 2019, and 2018 for us.

...Calgary's record Low for November 7th is 3.3°C from 2002 & 1930.
So far this morning they're down to...11.5°C?!?
That will be a new daily record, and could be their hottest November Low ever.
The record High is 21.2°C from 1999.

September 6th gets a new record High of 32.1°C in Edmonton, ahead of 31.1°C from 1934.
And Calgary's 31.7°C breaks their old record of 30°C from 2003 & 1934...

I was out on the balcony when I noticed this coming in & I thought I heard thunder so I activated my lightning app and sure enough Calgary was getting lightning strikes so I guess this is our first little storm of the year! Let it rain., let it rain! #yycweather

That's the 5th latest on record, but 2021, 2019 & 1958 all waited until February. 1958 has the record on February 6th.
By this point of the winter the average is around 9.

There are still a few hours left, but it's pretty safe to say that 2023 will be the warmest year on record for Edmonton & Montréal, and 2nd warmest for Calgary.

Calgary's overall temperatures for 2023 recently moved up to their 3rd warmest on record, at 2.3°C warmer than the 20th century average. And 2nd place is within reach.
Their Highs are in 6th spot, and their Lows just moved into 2nd spot.
