  1. #PhotoOfTheDay is of Vernal Fall in Yosemite, a popular day hike location and one of Yosemite's very beautiful landmarks. Hikers can be seen along the Mist Trail below.

I suspect that this photo is from 2002.

Emerald Pool up at the top is also quite lovely. And that's reason #986494 why Yosemite is my favorite place.

  5. Hmm. It looks like this #MoveOn petition hasn't had much traction! As a long-time (60+ years) #Yosemite visitor and hiker, I can attest to the fact that #Aramark is not pulling their weight as the concessionaire for #YNP. Would be great to see them replaced. If you agreed, consider signing ..

  6. Red Lodge, the Beartooths & Yellowstone were amazing & there are a lot of photos to come.
The harmony has been off this year when it comes to photography. I’m trying to get back at it. Vacation helped. I’ve missed the camera and the photo editing screen.
Let’s make the second half of the year way more productive & fun than the first.

  7. Stopping the mining threat near Yellowstone National Park

To remove the threat of a gold mine above Jardine, MT, Greater Yellowstone Coalition entered into an agreement to purchase mineral rights, leases, and claims to 1,368 acres of land from Crevice Mining Group, LLC for $6.25 million. They are currently more than halfway there, but need the public’s support to help reach the finish line by an October 1, 2023 deadline.

  8. A local Wyoming wildlife photographer said the shooting of a large male grizzly left dead about 30 yards off North Fork Highway near Cody early Monday sent waves of anger through the community.

“That bear can’t die in vain,” Amy Gerber of Cody told Cowboy State Daily. “The very few people who are so vehemently hateful toward grizzlies, that doesn’t represent us. That’s not Cody, Wyoming.

  9. Lower Yosemite Falls Through the Trees

Sitting below Yosemite Falls is one of my most favorite places to be on earth. The waterfall is so majestic and powerful and the water runs clean and cold. It can be truly refreshing when the mist drifts through the forest on a hot day,
This image captures the lower portion of the middle falls and the complete lower falls. See the full image here: fineartamerica.com/featured/lo #AYearForArt #BillGallagherPhotography ##LowerYosemiteFallsThroughtheTrees #YNP

  10. Yosemite Falls From the Swinging Bridge in Black and White

Yosemite Valley is such an amazing place. Here we have an image I created from the "swinging bridge'.
I have converted this to black and white to create some drama. The reflections in the Merced River are fantastic and the stillness in the water and quit peace of the valley in the winter is something that can only be experienced to describe. 11. Yosemite's Splendor
Winter in Yosemite can be a real adventure.
Even though the sun is out it it early and the temperatures dipped greatly overnight. As the day warms much of the beard will melt and the volume of the falls increases.
In this image the water moving over the falls gets blown against the mountain and freezes leaving a beard around the falls and a snow cone at the base. See the full image here: bill-gallagher.pixels.com/feat #BillGallagherPhotography #aYearForArt #Yosemite'sSplendor #YNP
