Enormous wine packaging changes in South Africa. From 2014 to 2021, the share of bag-in-box wines surged from 29% to 48%. At the same time, the share of glass and plastic bottled plummeted. Canned wine does not seem to thrive in South Africa (0.1% market share). #winesofsouthafrica #winepackaging #baginbox

Just got off a call with the CEO of https://releaf-paper.com
Been working hard to find ways to make our company based in tourism(a very carbon-heavy industry) more sustainable and these guys are truly inspiring. Really want to find a way to make wine packaging with their product but I need a large volume to make it happen. For anyone who thinks they can help, I'm open to ideas. Need to get over 100,000 units a month to get wine-sized bags made. Seems doable if we can get retailers to see the value. I so I would hope.
Either way I'll keep supporting them at theLAB(our wine shop) with the oversized bags for now.
