#ProTip: A weighted blanket can be turned sideways over summer. Achieving the same pressure on the torso, but venting heat from the neck and feet, covered only by a sheet.
It's getting really cold here, and I just remembered, and turned it back to lengthwise. Looking forward to warmer feet tonight.

Dear fellow handcrafters: has anyone of you tried to crochet a weighted blanket? Any tips or recommendations? I'm starting with thick wool for socks and plastic pony beads.

Do you love your anxiety blanket? I do. I found the hands down easiest way of getting that stupidly heavy thing onto the bed last night.
Wear it over your head and shoulders like a hooded cloak and crawl from the bottom of the bed into your slumber position.
Using the whole body to distribute the effort makes it light as a feather compared to using just your arms.

I'm a bit baffled by my blanket. Someone said that we should look at the weight per surface area to determine what blanket we need.
Guess what?
I found that this 10lbs blanket has the same weight per area as the 20lbs blanket that I had bought earlier.
I like this one better, but what's the difference? Maybe the materials, and the size. This one is kid's size. The one I had was king-size. The one I had was also more cumbersome to put together. It had a housing, and then you had to tie the blanket proper to a bunch of places.
I used my blanket last night and I have to say that my sleep was so-so. I was overheating at some point. I may need to rethink how many blankets I have on me at night. I just put it on top of all my other blankets. That's fine for naps, but maybe not for a full night of sleep.

Semi-related aside: my #4yo has to be constantly in contact with me if we're sitting side by side (they have a #SensoryProcessingDisorder). Which is fine but lately they're a freaking space heater little ball of sweat.
Might be time to get a small #WeightedBlanket for them.
