Monday was a really lovely summer night in Berlin. We seized it at a rooftop bar in Mitte with a few good cocktails.

On my way back home I snapped a picture of a public ad display that seemed to have issues with its hard disk and this displaying Linux console information. Posted that on the Fediverse of course and was surprised by the attention that post got. Almost 500 likes by the time of writing.

I’m not after a lot of likes or boost in my feed. What I’m but happy about is, that the Fediverse seems large and popular enough for a tiny fringe instance to get that far of a reach.

Kiddo was home in Berlin this week and we had lunch together in the city on Monday and were dining out at a Sushi restaurant on Wednesday. Weather in principle was bearable in Berlin I’d say. I was even surprised that the cooling in the office was working. We don’t have an actual air condition, but rather a weird cooling system that is broken more often than not.

Friday evening we attended the mobile summer cinema in Templin. That’s a summer event series were the local cinema is traveling around with their mobile projection setup and show movies at various places in the Uckermark. This time they were screening “Amrum” from German director Fatih Akin. Very lovely movie. Beautiful pictures, good actors and good story.

Weird enough it was a cold evening and people were showing up with their winter coats in preparation for temperatures around 12º C. Pretty weird when just a day ago we were akin under more than 30º C during the day.

Saturday started with a long overdue run with my buddy Jan in the village. Just a short round to get into it again for us two old battle horses.

The rest of the day I spent ripping out the floor in #project25.

Oh… and we finally got the new kitchen installed in the village house. Finally. But the new fangled appliances are the end boss. One really needs to read the fuckin instruction manual to get the induction cooking field with touch control started. I miss the good old time of physical buttons. I mean it’s a bloody cooking field. You have 4 stoves that you can turn on or off. Why does that need sophisticated touch control?

Aptivi Weekly Tech News Issue #10 (Week 32 – 8/8/2026)

Every week, we collect every event that happened within Aptivi, our projects, and other interesting tech news. This issue shows you the brief summary of our project releases and some of our articles posted on the Aptivi Blog and on the Newsroom, as well as some links to other interesting resources, such as the most intriguing tech news during the week.

As technology evolves quickly, we have to move quickly with the current to make sure that we don’t miss any of the interesting technology-related events, such as new releases and other interesting events that revolutionize the tech world.

New Aptivi Project Releases

During this week, we have released the following projects and/or new versions of our existing projects. This serves as a commitment into ensuring that our projects become more usable and reliable as we add bug fixes and other improvements. Additionally, those releases may have added new features for productivity.

What happened at Aptivi?

During this week, sets of events have happened at Aptivi, and we have chosen to summarize some of the most intriguing events that we have covered here at Aptivi Blog and Aptivi Newsroom, as well as other Aptivi updates in case they happen.

When it comes to news about computers, Linux 7.2 RC6 was expected to be released on Monday. Google rolled out the ARM64 version of Google Chrome for Linux machines, which was a huge progress for the browser, ready for everyone who wish to use Google Chrome on ARM64 machines running Linux to download and install it. Furthermore, it was possible to install Google Chrome for ARM64 Linux on a Ubuntu proot-distro environment with Termux on Android.

For music listeners, Rhythmbox 3.5 is now available after almost a decade of being in the 3.4 version series, which provides improved lyrics support, as well as improved music backend being enabled by default.

When it comes to Samsung smartphones, the software rollout schedule has been updated to add new foldables and watches, demote one device, and remove two devices from the schedule. One UI 9.0 Beta Program is also preparing to be expanded to devices like the Galaxy S25 and the Z Fold7 and Flip7 foldables, and the fifth beta for the Galaxy S26 has been scheduled to release next week according to the official Samsung announcement.

Additionally, the Galaxy Z Fold8, Flip8, Fold8 Ultra, Watch9, and Watch Ultra2 started rolling out globally after two weeks of pre-orders, ensuring that their availability becomes broader than before, while the Galaxy S26 FE and the Galaxy Tab S12 series were indirectly confirmed through an update to a Good Lock module, Camera Assistant, in the Galaxy Store.

Finally, Google started rolling out the updated design for the Gemini overlay for Pixel Watch users. This brings the Neural Expressive design language to your smartwatch, which maintains consistency across all devices.

This week, Aptivi has officially stopped distributing updates to Terminaux 6.1 and 7.0, while continuing to provide Terminaux 8.7 with more features that will make it to the final release. Meanwhile, Nitrocid 0.2.1 has witnessed some refactors to the codebase that was aging, from simple refactors to complex ones, to ensure that the Nitrocid API remains accessible. We’ve also tested Google Chrome for ARM64 Linux on a termux environment, which worked well.

Additionally, Google has updated the Gemini overlay for Pixel Watch users, and Samsung has launched the rollout of the new devices that were unveiled two weeks ago. As technology evolves quickly, we have to move quickly with the current to make sure that we don’t miss any of the interesting technology-related events, such as new releases and other interesting events that revolutionize the tech world.

New Aptivi Project Releases

During this week, we have released the following projects and/or new versions of our existing projects. This serves as a commitment into ensuring that our projects become more usable and reliable as we add bug fixes and other improvements. Additionally, those releases may have added new features for productivity.

What happened at Aptivi?

During this week, sets of events have happened at Aptivi, and we have chosen to summarize some of the most intriguing events that we have covered here at Aptivi Blog and Aptivi Newsroom, as well as other Aptivi updates in case they happen.

When it comes to news about computers, Linux 7.2 RC6 was expected to be released on Monday. Google rolled out the ARM64 version of Google Chrome for Linux machines, which was a huge progress for the browser, ready for everyone who wish to use Google Chrome on ARM64 machines running Linux to download and install it. Furthermore, it was possible to install Google Chrome for ARM64 Linux on a Ubuntu proot-distro environment with Termux on Android.

For music listeners, Rhythmbox 3.5 is now available after almost a decade of being in the 3.4 version series, which provides improved lyrics support, as well as improved music backend being enabled by default.

When it comes to Samsung smartphones, the software rollout schedule has been updated to add new foldables and watches, demote one device, and remove two devices from the schedule. One UI 9.0 Beta Program is also preparing to be expanded to devices like the Galaxy S25 and the Z Fold7 and Flip7 foldables, and the fifth beta for the Galaxy S26 has been scheduled to release next week according to the official Samsung announcement.

Additionally, the Galaxy Z Fold8, Flip8, Fold8 Ultra, Watch9, and Watch Ultra2 started rolling out globally after two weeks of pre-orders, ensuring that their availability becomes broader than before, while the Galaxy S26 FE and the Galaxy Tab S12 series were indirectly confirmed through an update to a Good Lock module, Camera Assistant, in the Galaxy Store.

Finally, Google started rolling out the updated design for the Gemini overlay for Pixel Watch users. This brings the Neural Expressive design language to your smartwatch, which maintains consistency across all devices.

Summary

This week, Aptivi has officially stopped distributing updates to Terminaux 6.1 and 7.0, while continuing to provide Terminaux 8.7 with more features that will make it to the final release. Meanwhile, Nitrocid 0.2.1 has witnessed some refactors to the codebase that was aging, from simple refactors to complex ones, to ensure that the Nitrocid API remains accessible. We’ve also tested Google Chrome for ARM64 Linux on a termux environment, which worked well.

In the other hand, Samsung has updated the rollout schedule for software updates to add the new foldables and to change the support status for some devices, with two removals and one demotion. Additionally, Google has updated the Gemini overlay for Pixel Watch users, and Samsung has launched the rollout of the new devices that were unveiled two weeks ago. Furthermore, Google Chrome for ARM64 Linux was released for the general public, and Rhythmbox 3.5 was released after almost a decade of being in 3.4 version series.

Aptivi Weekly Tech News Issue #10 (Week 32 – 8/8/2026)

Every week, we collect every event that happened within Aptivi, our projects, and other interesting tech news. This issue shows you the brief summary of our project releases and some of our articles posted on the Aptivi Blog and on the Newsroom, as well as some links to other interesting resources, such as the most intriguing tech news during the week.

As technology evolves quickly, we have to move quickly with the current to make sure that we don’t miss any of the interesting technology-related events, such as new releases and other interesting events that revolutionize the tech world.

New Aptivi Project Releases

During this week, we have released the following projects and/or new versions of our existing projects. This serves as a commitment into ensuring that our projects become more usable and reliable as we add bug fixes and other improvements. Additionally, those releases may have added new features for productivity.

What happened at Aptivi?

During this week, sets of events have happened at Aptivi, and we have chosen to summarize some of the most intriguing events that we have covered here at Aptivi Blog and Aptivi Newsroom, as well as other Aptivi updates in case they happen.

When it comes to news about computers, Linux 7.2 RC6 was expected to be released on Monday. Google rolled out the ARM64 version of Google Chrome for Linux machines, which was a huge progress for the browser, ready for everyone who wish to use Google Chrome on ARM64 machines running Linux to download and install it. Furthermore, it was possible to install Google Chrome for ARM64 Linux on a Ubuntu proot-distro environment with Termux on Android.

For music listeners, Rhythmbox 3.5 is now available after almost a decade of being in the 3.4 version series, which provides improved lyrics support, as well as improved music backend being enabled by default.

When it comes to Samsung smartphones, the software rollout schedule has been updated to add new foldables and watches, demote one device, and remove two devices from the schedule. One UI 9.0 Beta Program is also preparing to be expanded to devices like the Galaxy S25 and the Z Fold7 and Flip7 foldables, and the fifth beta for the Galaxy S26 has been scheduled to release next week according to the official Samsung announcement.

Additionally, the Galaxy Z Fold8, Flip8, Fold8 Ultra, Watch9, and Watch Ultra2 started rolling out globally after two weeks of pre-orders, ensuring that their availability becomes broader than before, while the Galaxy S26 FE and the Galaxy Tab S12 series were indirectly confirmed through an update to a Good Lock module, Camera Assistant, in the Galaxy Store.

Finally, Google started rolling out the updated design for the Gemini overlay for Pixel Watch users. This brings the Neural Expressive design language to your smartwatch, which maintains consistency across all devices.

Aptivi Weekly Tech News Issue #10 (Week 32 – 8/8/2026)

Every week, we collect every event that happened within Aptivi, our projects, and other interesting tech news. This issue shows you the brief summary of our project releases and some of our articles posted on the Aptivi Blog and on the Newsroom, as well as some links to other interesting resources, such as the most intriguing tech news during the week.

As technology evolves quickly, we have to move quickly with the current to make sure that we don’t miss any of the interesting technology-related events, such as new releases and other interesting events that revolutionize the tech world.

New Aptivi Project Releases

During this week, we have released the following projects and/or new versions of our existing projects. This serves as a commitment into ensuring that our projects become more usable and reliable as we add bug fixes and other improvements. Additionally, those releases may have added new features for productivity.

What happened at Aptivi?

During this week, sets of events have happened at Aptivi, and we have chosen to summarize some of the most intriguing events that we have covered here at Aptivi Blog and Aptivi Newsroom, as well as other Aptivi updates in case they happen.

When it comes to news about computers, Linux 7.2 RC6 was expected to be released on Monday. Google rolled out the ARM64 version of Google Chrome for Linux machines, which was a huge progress for the browser, ready for everyone who wish to use Google Chrome on ARM64 machines running Linux to download and install it. Furthermore, it was possible to install Google Chrome for ARM64 Linux on a Ubuntu proot-distro environment with Termux on Android.

For music listeners, Rhythmbox 3.5 is now available after almost a decade of being in the 3.4 version series, which provides improved lyrics support, as well as improved music backend being enabled by default.

When it comes to Samsung smartphones, the software rollout schedule has been updated to add new foldables and watches, demote one device, and remove two devices from the schedule. One UI 9.0 Beta Program is also preparing to be expanded to devices like the Galaxy S25 and the Z Fold7 and Flip7 foldables, and the fifth beta for the Galaxy S26 has been scheduled to release next week according to the official Samsung announcement.

Additionally, the Galaxy Z Fold8, Flip8, Fold8 Ultra, Watch9, and Watch Ultra2 started rolling out globally after two weeks of pre-orders, ensuring that their availability becomes broader than before, while the Galaxy S26 FE and the Galaxy Tab S12 series were indirectly confirmed through an update to a Good Lock module, Camera Assistant, in the Galaxy Store.

Finally, Google started rolling out the updated design for the Gemini overlay for Pixel Watch users. This brings the Neural Expressive design language to your smartwatch, which maintains consistency across all devices.

Finally vacation. We go to our usual place on germanys biggest island Rügen. Since more than 20 years we go there every summer with the larger family. Always staying in the same area so we know our ways around and relaxation can start immediately.

Weather was really nice. Rain on the first day and then sunshine but not too hot most the other days. It’s also a tradition that we attend the Störtebeker Festspiele. An open air stage play about a German pirate legend taking place in and around the Baltic Sea. We’ve seen 3 generations of main characters of that play meanwhile.

The stage setup is always spectacular. They really take an effort to build the ancient cities and have transformable house so you can see inside when the scene is playing inside.

There is also a famous German entertainer performing songs in between the play. This is getting a little out of hand for my taste. 4 songs before the break is at least 2 too many.

Fireworks at the end is also always amazing.

This was our first long trip with the new electric vehicle. Started with 80% charge and drove all the way to Thiessow without charging in between. Still about 20% charge left when we arrived. No Reichweitenangst at all.

But the Mönchsgut (thats the east most peninsula of the Island) leaves something to desire when it comes to public charging points. Finally found some in Baabe that do 50kW. There was even a 150kW charger at Netto parking lot. Unfortunately that didn’t work for me.

Took some good long walks along the beach and saw an amazing full moon rising over the sea. Photos absolutely don’t pay the actual thing respect.

Driving back we started with 70% battery and arrived in Templin with about 14% left. Very neat.

What happened at Aptivi?

During this week, sets of events have happened at Aptivi, and we have chosen to summarize some of the most intriguing events that we have covered here at Aptivi Blog and Aptivi Newsroom, as well as other Aptivi updates in case they happen.

Linux 7.2’s fifth release candidate was released this Monday, which brought audio-related fixes for different hardware, as well as many other improvements that were brought to the kernel and other components. Meanwhile, Windows 11 received the July 2026 preview patch this week, which brought some improvements to the operating system. Microsoft has also announced their progress for improvements made to Windows 11 since they promised improvements to us since this March.

Samsung has continued to expand the July 2026 security patch for some more devices, such as the Galaxy A56. Furthermore, more Galaxy tablets started receiving the July 2026 security patch. In addition to this update, Galaxy devices start receiving the July 2026 Google Play System Update this week.

Additionally, after the unveiling of the Galaxy Watch9 and Watch Ultra2 series, Samsung started rolling out the Samsung Health update to existing smartwatches, which brought a revamped design. Meanwhile, Samsung started working on One UI 9 Watch for older Galaxy smartwatches, such as the Galaxy Watch6 and the Galaxy Watch5, both of which were released in 2023 and 2022, respectively.

Summary

This week, Aptivi released a new version of Terminaux and two new versions of Nitrocid to address issues and to add some new functionality, while working on both MediaBoom, which led to its first-ever announcement, and a new major version of Nitrocid. We have also confirmed MediaBoom’s existence after a long time of development, and announced major changes being made to Nitrocid’s API.

In the other hand, Samsung went on rolling out the July 2026 security update and Google went on rolling out the July 2026 Google Play System update. Samsung also started working on several updates, including the Samsung Health update that introduced a revamped UI. Linux 7.2 RC5 was released, and Windows 11 July 2026 preview patch was released.

Summary

This week, Aptivi released a new version of Terminaux and two new versions of Nitrocid to address issues and to add some new functionality, while working on both MediaBoom, which led to its first-ever announcement, and a new major version of Nitrocid. We have also confirmed MediaBoom’s existence after a long time of development, and announced major changes being made to Nitrocid’s API.

In the other hand, Samsung went on rolling out the July 2026 security update and Google went on rolling out the July 2026 Google Play System update. Samsung also started working on several updates, including the Samsung Health update that introduced a revamped UI. Linux 7.2 RC5 was released, and Windows 11 July 2026 preview patch was released.

Aptivi Weekly Tech News Issue #9 (Week 31 – 8/1/2026)

Every week, we collect every event that happened within Aptivi, our projects, and other interesting tech news. This issue shows you the brief summary of our project releases and some of our articles posted on the Aptivi Blog and on the Newsroom, as well as some links to other interesting resources, such as the most intriguing tech news during the week.

As technology evolves quickly, we have to move quickly with the current to make sure that we don’t miss any of the interesting technology-related events, such as new releases and other interesting events that revolutionize the tech world.

New Aptivi Project Releases

During this week, we have released the following projects and/or new versions of our existing projects. This serves as a commitment into ensuring that our projects become more usable and reliable as we add bug fixes and other improvements. Additionally, those releases may have added new features for productivity.

This is not the end, since we keep working on new versions of projects, even if there are no new releases of our projects made this week.

What happened at Aptivi?

During this week, sets of events have happened at Aptivi, and we have chosen to summarize some of the most intriguing events that we have covered here at Aptivi Blog and Aptivi Newsroom, as well as other Aptivi updates in case they happen.

Linux 7.2’s fifth release candidate was released this Monday, which brought audio-related fixes for different hardware, as well as many other improvements that were brought to the kernel and other components. Meanwhile, Windows 11 received the July 2026 preview patch this week, which brought some improvements to the operating system. Microsoft has also announced their progress for improvements made to Windows 11 since they promised improvements to us since this March.

Samsung has continued to expand the July 2026 security patch for some more devices, such as the Galaxy A56. Furthermore, more Galaxy tablets started receiving the July 2026 security patch. In addition to this update, Galaxy devices start receiving the July 2026 Google Play System Update this week.

Additionally, after the unveiling of the Galaxy Watch9 and Watch Ultra2 series, Samsung started rolling out the Samsung Health update to existing smartwatches, which brought a revamped design. Meanwhile, Samsung started working on One UI 9 Watch for older Galaxy smartwatches, such as the Galaxy Watch6 and the Galaxy Watch5, both of which were released in 2023 and 2022, respectively.
