effect of #warOnPrivacy will not be a safe and secure world where everyone can thrive.
it will be a greatly diminished world with more crime, not less, where no one can thrive.
#waronprivacy means that #goingdark won't be a threat to society, it will be an imperative, the only way for society to keep evolving.
as for petty criminal activity, they will only manage to drive it further into the shadows and make it harder to prosecute, not limit it (mark my words)

I call on everyone, absolutely everyone, to get familiar with decentralized messenger applications and censorship evasion methods to reach #signal and so on even if they cannot operate in your country anymore.
And to talk these things over with all those whose messages to you must *not* be #scanned.
A worldwide #warOnPrivacy is on.
Resisting it is by necessity a top priority, not least because privacy is important to many other ends, including political organising.

Dämme brechen und keine Sau fühlt sich betroffen.
#Datenschützer stopfen Löcher im Deich ... mit ihren Fingern.
Blöderweise haben sie nur begrenzt viele davon.
Und der Deich ist aufgeweicht.
Statt zu helfen, fahren Politiker schwere Geschütze auf, um den kaputten Deich mit Mörsergranaten wegzuballern.
Und feixen dabei.
Die Übertreibung von gestern: das Geschäftsmodell von heute;
Die Übertreibung von gestern: die Gesetzesvorlage von heute.

Very strongly held opinion:
Any "ban" on any #privacy-enhancing technology just highlights the need for said technology.
Such a ban is morally null and void and can effectively be viewed as an act of self-delegitimation on the part of the government issuing it.

maybe this isn't evil, for once.
maybe google engineers are secretly trying to help out in times of #waronprivacy ...
