Trump-endorsed WA-03 Congressional District candidate Joe Kent finally conceded today following a recount, stating “our campaign is not at a sad end but a strong beginning.”

Kent has already announced his candidacy for 2024.

He changed his mind about voting late.

During the campaign, he has advised his voters to vote late, based on seriously warped disinformation about how ballots were processed. Now it seems like he is at least partially blaming that thinking on his loss.

Some important context for the Kent recount request

1. Despite mentioning signature verification in his comms about the recount, this process with have zero to do with that step of ballot processing

2. A machine recount is basically rerunning the initial machine tabulation OR verification of the logic and accuracy test, which all the counties passed weeks ago

3. The $42k deposit is just a deposit. He's going to have to pay the entire amount, which will be way more
