Rough Sunday for my spouse. His moped [primary transportation to & from work] was stolen out of the apartment parking lot early this morning. We think we were both awoken by the sound of it being driven away, but it didn't register. A police report & insurance claim have been filed, however, we're likely going to have to replace the moped even if it is found.
My hubby is a Veteran. This was his first personal [just his] vehicle since probably around 2008. In 2014, our truck was repo'd due to extended joblessness | inability to make the payments. In 2023, my mom gave us a car & later in 2023, my husband's family gifted him the funds to buy the moped so he didn't have to always rely on others for a ride. That independence has meant the world to him. Sadly, we couldn't afford anything more than liability insurance, so... that won't cover the costs of the theft. 😿
