Last Saturday, the #UNMappers Kenya Youth Climate Mapping Externship team went back.

Armed with #KoboToolbox and #ChatMap, the team fanned out across Sarang'ombe and Woodley to revisit those same points and see what five years had changed.

What they found was remarkable. The numbers had reduced. A significant percentage of the original trash points had been reclaimed. The community had moved the needle — through local action, not outside intervention.

UN Mappers Kenya — Nairobi Drainage Map and Clean 🇰🇪

In April 2026, #UNMappers Kenya partnered with the the Young Lawyers Voice on Climate Change Foundation YLVOCCF to collect structured, geolocated drainage data on the ground in one of the areas most affected by flooding in Nairobi.
