We are what Tich Nat Hahn called interbeing which goes beyond interconnected, though it is that as well. The South African word ubuntu sums it up well 'I am because you are'.
We are taught that we can be separate, and we can, but in doing so we lose a large part of ourselves. We also deprive ourselves and our kin, all the living constituents of our beautiful planet and universe. Until we accept what I call unity in diversity, a adequate term but a possible starting point, we will continue the hurt and trauma of generations.
Recognition is the first step in the healing process, some of us have recognised that first step. In showing compassion we share the reparation taking place.
