  1. #Uber is partnering with #dronedelivery company #Zipline to integrate #drones into its #UberEats platform, aiming for one million daily deliveries by 2029. The partnership will begin in Zipline’s existing markets and expand to dozens of US cities. This move aligns with Uber’s strategy of collaborating with various drone delivery partners to enhance its Eats service. techcrunch.com/2026/08/17/uber #tech #news #ainews

  2. This space feels like it is getting VERY crowded. Uber + Zipline want to be your drone delivery provider.

  3. So with my recent #disastrous experience with #Uber #Eats, it looks like I have to file a #chargeback with my credit card company to get my refund. If you missed the previous episode of Support Disasters: purchase through website, but refunds only through the app, which I can't use, because I don't have a cell phone.

I thought you used to be able to dispute a merchant charge on the phone, but I don't seem to have that option today. I have to submit a dispute by postal mail - or by fax 🤣 .

I'm guessing the procedure for "submit a dispute by fax" goes like this:

    1. Time-travel back to 1994 when fax was relevant.
    2. Submit form by fax.

    Fun.

  4. People who order things on #DoorDash, #UberEats, #MenuLog and the like, do you try to take into account how far the place you're ordering from is? I don't want the delivery driver to have to drive ages away just because I live in a shit part of town.

(I also notice how hard these platforms try to downplay distance)

  5. Couple who used #UberEats can't sue #Uber because of #arbitration terms, court says : NPR

A #NewJersey appeals court says a couple cannot sue Uber over a life-altering car accident because of the app’s terms & conditions, even though they say it was their daughter who agreed to those terms while placing an Uber Eats order.

#ServeRobotics, which delivers food for #UberEats, provided footage filmed by at least one of its robots to the LAPD as #evidence in a criminal case. The emails show the robots, which are a constant sight in the city, can be used for #surveillance.
