I just renewed my Texas driver license over the phone with an automated system, because I absolutely am not creating a "TxT" account with the DMV's 3rd party provider. I won't install an app or give them extra facts like my email address. They can access my registration, car ownership, and driving record; that private entity doesn't need anything else from me, thank you.
And for the privilege, I paid $33.

Made an appointment to renew my Texas ID, and the earliest date near me is at the end of July! I'll renew my passport (expensive, but easier) in order to be able to function as a full member of society.
I used to renew downtown on my way to work and it took less than 10 minutes, but that and many other offices are no longer operational. Why?
With all the people moving here, seems like shutting down DPS offices was a Bad Idea.
