It is an excellent drama with a “good” ending in that it’s entirely plausible & realistic.
My beef with it is that the situation forced him to make a choice between work that he loved - but wouldn’t lead to a well-balanced, healthy, satisfying life & the love of his life, who If he had chosen her over work, he would have resented at some point. There was just no winning for him & I think that’s what made me the saddest.
