Thanks to @scott for turning me onto this cute "guess the transit line" daily puzzle. Today's was rough (outside my stomping grounds!) but I at least had one guess that intersected with the correct answer for a bit!

Looks like #Trimet realized the Banfield Mainline is constantly delayed by interline hell and working to fix that by truncating the Green Line to Gateway.

Seems more logical to eliminate the green line entirely and reroute the Red Line to run PDX to Clackamas, then increase service on the Blue Line so it's only 15 minutes or less between trains on the outer stations instead of 2-3 times an hour at most.

What is layout, anyway?

Also, parking shouldn't be free, especially when #Trimet hasn't made the buses free. #pdx

Pretty Happy with how my Live Activities have turned out.

Short demo:
1. When getting arrival times, long press on any arrival and chose Track with Live Activity
2. From the Dynamic Island or Lock Screen, you can tap to open the app to that transit stop as well as highlight the specific arrival
3. Shows up on Apple Watch Smart Stack & tapping on it also opens up PDX Transit for watchOS to the transit stop & highlights the arrival

For any transit stop, long press on an arrival and choose the Live Activity option.

You can open back up to this view by tapping the Live Activity from the lock screen or Dynamic Island.

It’ll also highlight the arrival you’re interested in as well. 🚍

I'm implementing Live Activities for #PDXTransit. It's a bit basic since I am not using remote push notifications but kinda neat anyway!

I also made themes depending on if you're tracking a TriMet line or a Portland Streetcar line.🚍

This new version is 100% SwiftUI and uses newer frameworks like SwiftData (with iCloud sync), App Shortcuts, Widgets, etc. etc. It's a bit simple but that's okay. I spend too much time on this app already haha -- plus it is completely free!

I'm on a hunt for two or three folks- any of them can help. It seems #Trimet has a safety issue brewing in the rail crossing at #Merlo so I wanna help get this nipped in the bud before I get hurt. I just experienced this when scoping out a complex near the trail. It's appearance isn't as good as Pallas but it is garden walkup

Anyone in the Portland area who uses #TriMet care to Test Flight my app? It’s a re-write of the currently shipping version of PDX Transit however it is now 100% SwiftUI and uses Swift Data and Swift Concurrency — includes App Shortcuts, Widgets, & a SwiftUI version of PDX Transit for Apple Watch. Also has fun things like on device translations for service alerts and look around in Maps. Unlike the previous version, it has an iPad optimized layout too.

My app, #PDXTransit, turns 10 years old this year this August. I wrote it when I moved to Portland back in 2015.

My App Shortcut to open bookmarked #Trimet transit stops in PDX Transit works pretty well with HomePod too!

I still need to make the output a bit more condensed but you get the idea… since you don’t have a visual UI, Siri will read out loud the upcoming arrivals for you.

I’m going to have localizing these to Spanish. 🇪🇸🤓
