Babel & Backhuhn
Last full day of this trip, still in wonderful Wien! It’s a Tuesday, so the museums are all open again, including the Wien Museum and Kunsthistorisches Museum.

Wieder in Wien
To break up the return trip a bit—and because it’s a great city—I decided to have a two day stop in Vienna. I’ll revisit familiar places, visit some new ones, and of course enjoy the architecture, food, and beer!

Transylvania Halloween Hash 2025
The alcohol already properly taken care of, it was time to do something about that running problem of ours! So there was a proper trail on Saturday, and a hangover trail on Sunday, to recover from the Halloween party in between.

Trip to Transylvania
It was to leave Bucharest again, but not quite Romania! This day was actually mostly about getting from the capital to a tiny village in Transylvania, where we were appropriately welcomed for the Transylvania Halloween Hash 2025!

Pastrami & Pubs
The second and already last full day in București was used to tick off some more local food boxes. It was also the day that a large number of hashers with the same destination as I arrived, which usually means one thing: bar crawl!

Roman-ia!
A new day, a new country! It’s absurd I hadn’t been to Romania yet, considering you can even spell the country’s name without “Roman”! Ready to discover which local dishes and beers Bucharest has to offer!

Along the Limes
Starting the day with a visit to the ruins of Aquincum, the Roman border settlement and origin of Budapest, and ending it on the Ister train, which is the Latin name for the Danube, part of the northern border of the Roman empire. It was a very Roman border themed day!

Budapest by Day
After catching up on some sleep, it was time to properly discover Budapest: visit a museum, do some sightseeing, and finally eat something local!

FIRST time in Budapest!
Five years after I originally planned my trip, I was finally there: Budapest! Run with the local hashers, drink the local beers, enjoy the local delicacies: lots of fun ahead!

La Cabra Coffee, Kraftpaule, and Kálmán Imre
It all started with a post-it note left at the 2024 BMPH3 Xmas Party: “Come to Transylvania OCT 25”. Well, it is October 2025 now, so I’m heading to Romania for a hashing event… It is quite a trek, though, so I’ll be making some stops along the way. First destination: Budapest!
