Ireland has struggled to produce world class athletes in field events. Anna is knocking at the door and sadly her attempt to qualify for the European Champs got stymied by a poor vetting process- my view

Athletics Ireland, the governing body of the sport needs to take a look at how they determine who goes to championship events

  10. Has anyone ever done, officially or not, a reverse relay race? So, 4 x 100m (or 400m) but when you hand over the baton your teammate is going the opposite way. The relay recipients get the same ‘run up’ they’d get in the regular race, just the other way.

Is this a thing? If not, what’s stopping it being a thing? Surely not chaos, it sounds like FUN.
