  1. 🏃 Relative Age Effect (RAE) in world-class track and field!

    A study of 40,000 top-100 ranked athletes (2007-2018) found early-year birth gives a big edge in youth: Under-18s born in week 1 are up to 3.5x more likely to reach the top 100 than those born in the last week. Effect shrinks with age but persists in throwing events and 400m hurdles. Stronger in men than women.
