Today is National Living Donor Day! You don’t have to be dead to give away bits and pieces!
Living donors can give kidneys, a segment of liver, a lobe of lung, a portion of pancreas, or a length of intestine. They can also use tissue like skin from tummy tucks, bones from hip/knee replacements, bone marrow, umbilical cord blood, placenta, amniotic membrane, and of course, BLOOD.

February 14 isn't just Valentine's Day. It's also National Donor Day, which is an observance dedicated to spreading awareness and education about organ, eye and tissue donation.
I advocate for organ and tissue donation whenever I can, despite the extra work it causes for embalmers. It's worth it. A single donor has the potential to save or improve *75* lives!
The absence of an organ in your grave means the presence of life in another person. Learn more about how it works, plus dispel myths and misconceptions here: https://www.louisepachella.com/blog/seasonofgiving

It's National Giving Hearts Day 💞
Have you signed up as an organ donor? If you haven't... why not?
There are a lot of misconceptions around organ and tissue donation. Doctors DO try their hardest to save your life, old and sick people CAN sometimes still donate, you CAN have an open casket funeral, and the vast majority of religions actively endorse organ donation or at least consider it to be the family's choice.
Read more about what can be donated, how it all works, and how many lives can be impacted by the generosity of one person (spoiler: it's a LOT).
