  1. How do you know if the call about vacations is a scam? If you get a call about a #vacation, #timeshare, or #cruise, it’s 100% a #scammer. Hang up & avoid the #scam. Even the Mexican drug cartel is now doing vacation #scams. Legit firms won’t call you.

  7. I'm thinking, if you vacationed 1 week a year, and paid $215 a night for a hotel, that is the same as a typical annual maintenance fee on a #timeshare ($1500), so even if the upfront cost was cheap or $0 (which it can be on the 2ndary market, $2k +/- ... it still doesn't compete with paying cash for a hotel.

  12. I survived the #timeshare sales pitch. If Hilton offers you a cheap hotel deal, it might be a timeshare pitch.

  17. Years ago, dumb me bought a #timeshare. Not just buy but auto paid to my #CreditCard (also dumb). I wanted to pay but just switch method. They ignored me.

So, I called card company and service rep said I couldn't stop the auto billing because timeshare company was also customer on the account.

Perfect, realized! Followed up call in writing telling them to get future pay from the other account holder and cancelled card. Worked a charm without a dent in credit.
