'You know if #Peters, #Seymour and the #Tax Payers #Union are panting hysterically about any #policy that they claim is the end of the world as we know it ... then whoever is making them clutch their pearls ... and act in a most agitated manner has raised something that the people they represent want strangled at birth.

These people do not represent "the people" and definitely not fairness and equality, they represent maintaining a system that rewards the owners of #Capital that benefit from #labour and #business #owners being taxed to #subsidize the lack of #capital gains, #land and #inheritance tax that they refuse to pay.

Calling the #Greens #communists is factually wrong and laughable but the fact they have reacted so #hysterically to the Greens proposed tax #policies, which would force their masters to pay tax (at all) is telling and all fair minded people should support the Greens because of this, otherwise tax #reform in #NZ will not happen.

I'm lucky to have a split-system (poorly positioned in one room). Didn't use it recently and living space hit 32C easily.

My kitchen extractor fan goes straight into the roof space, and that temperature comes in unhindered (open plan living space). I'm currently too scared to email to ask if I can install a back-draught stopper (at my own expense) because I don't want to be a bother.

I also don't have an in-tact front screen door, so can't get a good cross breeze when it cools down. But my kitchen does get windy when there's a gusty change, so that probably counts for something. The same in winter, cold gusts of air come through the fan... (recorded a low of 11C last winter without the heating on).

I'm fortunate to have the option to turn on heating/cooling, and to be able to afford it mostly. But it'd be better if there was some basic insulation too.

It'd also be great if property managers didn't always regard tenants as a hassle and a trouble. #renting #landlords #owners #LivingConditions #IndoorTemperature
