I was not feeling excited about seeing the Warhol show at the Hugh Lane. I thought the 1997 survey at IMMA had closed that book and the era of this type of blockbuster was gone. But — maybe it was the curation and gallery, or the beautiful November day, or a day’s work leave, or a good visit beforehand to my daughter’s metabolic clinic … whatever, it was enjoyable, and sometimes surprising.
