Football is boring and it’s half time, so let’s chuck this on. I grew up not too far away from where this album was recorded, and I was in Woolworths in Abergavenny when I met a couple of the band. The Bass Thing (Rob Jones) signed my Melody Maker. Sadly I no longer have that, but there was a brief time I thought The Wonder Stuff might be the best band in the world. #vinyl #TheWonderStuff

"Caught in my shadow" - The Wonder Stuff
Filmed outside Birmingham Cathedral on 20 april. The idea came from Miles Hunt's quote that "if we ever stop being famous, we'll busk outside tube stations".
Filming was interrupted by an unexpected sleet shower, so things go from sunny to dark and back in an instant.
My friends Pollard and Fozzie were there, and reckon they're the tall guys in the crowd when Miles whips his hair back during the first chorus.

Working my way through cleaning my old #vinyl
Funny how just looking at it brings back memories. I remember thinking that this would be worth a fortune in the years ahead (released in 1987). I've just had a look on eBay and it's not 😅

I haven't listened to this in 30 years!
Wherever I went out back in the late 80s #TheWonderstuff always seemed to be playing.
Being a Midlands band I guess that wasn't too surprising. I loved their first album and bought this too but then drifted off.
They were always great fun in those little smoky venues.
