"Born free" - Vic Reeves and the Roman Numerals
It's the performance with the backing singers serving a tray of sandwiches because they've got so little to do, and Vic flicks through pictures of birds during the instrumental break. Absolutely bonkers, clearly going for the comedy rather than the serious music.
#TOTP has always had this streak of light entertainment running through it; like a stick of cheap seaside rock, it's not always visible.

I must have watched this so many times since it was broadcast. I originally recorded it on VHS and I played that copy numerous times, and it is so great to have it as part of the Channel 4 catalogue of comedy shows. I think 'The Weekenders' might be #VicReeves and #BobMortimer’s greatest work! #theweekenders
