#TheWeirdos - "Break On Through" (1980)
X wasn't the only Hollywood punk band to go and cover a #Doors song at the dawn of the 80s. Like X, the Weirdos ditched some of the extraneous dynamics, leaving just the bits that could be re-made/re-modelled into something you might call "Weirdo-esque". (During the 90s, their incredible singer #JohnDenney would often shop in the used record store I worked in - he was always friendly & kind to me. They don't make em like him any more.)

Really sad to hear that Dix Denny guitarist for The Weirdos has passed. I got to play with him a couple times in a studio scenario. He was gonna potentially play lead #guitar with The Flesh Eaters when I was involved (late 90’s). He sat in on a couple of rehearsals but bailed when he realized we were prepping for shows, he really only wanted to record. Legend.
