The prompt is “Summer”The Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy, “The Winter Of The Long Hot Summer” from the album "Hypocrisy Is The Greatest Luxury," 1992
#MichaelFranti and Rono Tse of #TheBeatnigs continued their collaboration, founding #TheDisposableHeroesOfHiphoprisy, a more straighforwardly #HipHop group, dropping Beatnigs’ #punk edge but differentiating their sound from much of the #ConsciousRap of the day by keeping some of the #industrial sound as underpinning for the more prominent lyrics and beats, giving the tracks a dense, almost tactile feel.
The group and this album interpreted literally the aphorism that rappers reported the news of the street. This track concerns the #GulfWar of the #90s, criticizing US motives and motivation. The group released just this one album; Franti would go on to form #Spearhead.
